Travelling Around the World in 12 Months Project

World map at The Ashton

The activities team at The Ashton have started introducing our “Travelling Around the World in 12 months” project. This will be incorporating monthly activities surrounding special days that different countries around the world celebrate, and also learn a bit about their culture and try some of their cuisines. This is a fun way of getting residents to learn about other cultures which we feel would be an interesting history lesson for some!

We started by visiting Scotland in January to celebrate Burns Night. We learned about the origin of the Scottish flag and enjoyed a haggis supper. Our map shows all the countries visited with our mascot ‘Chris the Crab from Croma’ looking on.

We look forward to learning more about other countries in the upcoming months as well experience meals that may be out of the ordinary but no doubt delicious. We will be sure to keep our news & events page filled with regular updates.

If you would like to learn more about the activities we have on offer for our residents here at The Ashton, do not hesitate to get in touch with a friendly staff member who will be thrilled to provide some more information. You can also request to book a home visit with our home manager by contacting our team today.
