Bringing Residents Back to Their Roots

We have been delighted to welcome Mary, one of our residents who have recently joined us at The Ashton Care Home for a respite stay.
As a young girl, Mary lived in one of the houses opposite The Ashton which at the time the building in its place was a factory.
Mary used to like to go out and play in the street at a game called Whip and Top. One of the places Mary used to go was walking down The Narrows, which still has the name today.
This is a pathway that goes alongside The Ashton Care Home. On Friday Martin and Sue, the Activities Coordinator took Mary for a walk along The Narrows bringing back lots of childhood memories that she enjoyed and we loved hearing about the stories she told us.
