Dementia Care

In light of  statistics which confirm that as many as 80% of people living in care homes have a form of dementia or severe memory problems*, The Ashton Care Home ha now officially opened our Dementia Floor anmes "The Bennett Suite"

Our new dementia facility, provides specialist care for up to 24 residents, has been specially designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment for those with dementia and it's staffed by a team of in-house specialists to ensure that the best care and support is provided for each resident, according to their individual needs.

The floor walls are adorned with murals  by local artist Julie Levington,  is to be named The Bennett Suite, in honour of  2015 being the centenary year of Hinckley based textile firm, James Bennett Ltd. At the official opening, which coincides with the Ashton's first birthday, Elaine Bennett, owner of James Bennett Ltd, will join the team for a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the unveiling of the new facility.

Our staff are fully trained and qualified to deal will aspects of dementia. Our Staff treat all of our residents as individual’s and tailor care around their needs. Together with family and loved ones we get to know our residents in order to create an accurate picture of their life, so that we can ensure their ongoing happiness, comfort and wellbeing.

Our open visiting hour mean that Residents families are welcome at all times. We are also working on new ways to involve families and friends on a daily basis.

Activities and Alternative Therapies.
We also offer a range of activities and alternative therapies that are designed to help people with memory impairment: our Specialist Activity Coordinators are able to work with those at all stages of dementia.

Respite Care
At the Ashton we know that sometimes everyone needs a timeout. Whether you care for a loved one, or need a break yourself, you can truly relax and in knowing that a safe, welcoming environment awaits.

Respite care is ideal for those looking for convalescence, either following a hospital stay or an illness. Many people also arrange a trial stay as a temporary resident to see if the home is the right choice for them as their new home. 

At The Ashton we make sure each of our residents enjoy a welcoming and enjoyable stay, whether it’s  on a short or long term basis. We are committed to providing the care and support you need to get back on your feet.

Our respite care program includes:

  • The highest level of Care 24 hours throughout your stay.
  • Use of all Ashton Facilities – Hair Salon, Garden, Relaxation and Alternative Therapies
  • Food, Freshly prepared and cooked by our onsite chef
  • Activities and Entertainment designed by our specialist Activities Coordinators
  • Excellent Transport Links & Days out.

Day Care Program
Our Day Care program at the Ashton is designed to bring variety, stimulation and a welcome time out period for both our Guests and their Carers. Regardless of how long your loved one spends with us, we will ensure they have the best possible experience.

Day Care is available at The Ashton every day from 7.30am to 7.30pm 7 days a week.

Our sessions include activities and entertainment, full use of The Ashton facilities (including Hair Salon, Alternative Therapies and Gardens), delicious food cooked and freshly prepared by our onsite chef, and of course a very warm welcome and the chance to make new friendships, and the most of every day.
